About this piece

A playful little badger, painted in my soft watercolor style, full of personality and charm. His classic black‑and‑white coat gives him a timeless, almost dressed‑up look - classy and a little sassy, just as nature intended.

Badgers carry a beautiful symbolic meaning: steadfastness, curiosity, resilience, and gentle determination. They are night wanderers, burrow‑keepers, and quiet guardians of the forest floor - perfect companions for a collection about moving from fall into winter, which is exactly what my Transitions collection explores. I painted him while thinking about the forest changing colors and the quiet shift into colder months.

This tiny portrait fits beautifully into children’s rooms, “forever‑kids” living rooms, or anywhere you want to add a touch of woodland whimsy. Because it’s small and heartfelt, it makes a lovely gift - easy to frame in your own style or choose my grey frame option for a clean, modern finish.

The badger joins the growing forest crew I’ve been painting over the years - a sweet companion to the fox, bear, otter, frog, and all the other woodland friends in the Studio Reta world.
